Telecaller

You will be the first voice most people hear from House of Arts. Some days that means talking an artist through how to list their work with us; other days it is calling a collector about a piece we think they will want.

What you would do

• Call artists, curators and collectors from lists we give you, and keep a clear record of every conversation.
• Explain what we offer in plain language — nobody here reads from a script.
• Follow up when you said you would. This is most of the job, and the part that decides whether it works.
• Tell us what you are hearing. You will know things about our offer that the rest of us do not.

What would help

• Comfortable on the phone with strangers, in Hindi, Punjabi and English.
• Organised enough to remember a promise made on Tuesday and keep it on Friday.
• An interest in art is welcome, but we can teach you the art. We cannot teach you to care whether the person on the other end feels well treated.

Previous telecalling experience is useful and not required.
