Six kinds of custom painting

Most custom paintings start with one of six ideas. Pick one to see how it could turn out.

Ready-made or custom?

A ready-made painting suits most walls. A custom one suits yours.

A catalogue painting has to suit many walls. A custom painting only has to suit one.

  • Ready-made paintings are quicker, and you can see exactly what you are getting. Many walls are happy with one.
  • Custom paintings are made to your size, your colours and your subject, so they fit awkward walls and specific ideas.
  • Either way, the painting is original, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

How to brief us well

Five things make the brief easy.

You do not need to write a long brief. A clear photograph of the subject, a photograph of the wall with its width and height, and a line about the mood are usually enough. The more specific the brief, the more quickly we can tell you whether it works.

Add your budget and when you would like it by, and we can say straight away whether both are realistic. If you are not sure about any of it, book an appointment and we will work it out together.

Made to the size of your wall.

Standard custom sizes run from 12×18 to 36×48 inches: 12×18, 16×20, 20×30, 24×36 and 36×48. If your wall is a different shape, give us the measurements and we will make a custom size.

Budgets start from ₹5,000. The price depends on the size, the medium and the detail in the subject, and framing is optional, so you can set the budget to suit.

Questions about custom paintings

How much does a custom painting cost?

Budgets start from ₹5,000. The price depends on the size, the medium and how detailed the subject is, and we agree it with you before any work begins. Framing is optional.

Can you paint from my photograph?

Yes. Send a photograph, a subject or just the wall, and the painting is made by hand from it. A clear, well-lit photograph gives the best result.

What sizes can you paint?

Standard custom sizes are 12×18, 16×20, 20×30, 24×36 and 36×48 inches. For anything else, give us the measurements of your wall and we will make a custom size.

How long will it take?

It depends on the size, the medium and the amount of detail. We confirm the timeline when we agree the brief, before any work starts. Tell us if there is a date you need it by.

Can I make changes once it has started?

Please agree the size, medium and price before work begins, because they are fixed once painting starts. If you are unsure about a detail, ask us first and we will say plainly what is and is not possible.

Can you copy another artist’s painting?

No. We make original work from your brief and do not copy another artist’s work. It would be unfair to them, and a copyright problem for you.

Will I get a certificate of authenticity?

Yes. Original artwork is signed by hand and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Is shipping free, and can a custom painting be a gift?

Shipping is free across India, with tracked delivery. A custom painting makes a very personal gift. Tell us the occasion and the date you need it by when you write, and we will say whether it is possible.
