It means a person looked at it. Every profile, artwork, event and programme is checked before it appears, which usually takes 24 to 48 hours.
We check that:
- The work is original and belongs to the person listing it.
- Sizes, medium and condition are stated accurately.
- Photographs show the actual piece.
- No personal contact or payment details appear in the description.
- Events and programmes are art-related.
The reason behind the rule
Why no contact details in listings? Because a sale arranged privately has no record, no delivery follow-up and no protection for either side if something goes wrong. Keeping it on the gallery is what lets us stand behind it.
